Don't tell me how rough the water is....just bring the ship in. Excuses. We all have them. We couldn't go out with our friends because we were 'tired'. We couldn't invest in that amazing opportunity because we 'lacked funds'. We couldn't make it to the gym this morning because you 'couldn't find your shoes'. We didn't purchase the healthier food because 'it cost too much'. When will it end?
When you begin to give enough thought to the actions necessary to accomplish your dreams as you do at mentally creating your excuses...your world will flip. When it does, you will attract the right circumstances, people and events that will guide you to the world you have always wanted. Stop making excuses and start making better choices.
We all like challenges....a little competition to get the juices flowing. I love the feeling of giving without the thought of getting. I enjoy giving for the sake of giving. I treasure the emotion that follows watching as someone receives a surprising gift. SO...today I challenge you. I challenge you to do something that will create an incredible feeling in your mind and your heart. HERE IT IS: STEP ONE: I challenge you to purchase a complete strangers lunch.......without them knowing about it. That's right. This week when you are out for lunch, hand select the lucky winner of your offering. Tell the waitor(ess) that you would like to purchase so-and-so's lunch today and to please put their bill on your bill. Ask for a blank slip of paper and write the following words: 'Today is your lucky day to be noticed! You're awesome and deserve the best. Now it's your turn to notice someone else -Your Friend; The Universe. (*make sure to tell the waiter(ess) that you would like to keep this completely a secret)
STEP TWO: WAIT & WATCH. Sit back and watch their expression and what they do.
STEP THREE: Write back on this site how you felt and what their expression was.

"Part time commitment yields part time results." -Robin Sharma
PSSST! Come here. I've got a secret I want to tell you.....I know you may have bought into the lies and misinformation in the media and other outlets but the truth is this......'There is No Santa Claus'.
Sorry to be the 'downer' on your day but there will be no one showing up at your house while you are sleeping to leave you a big bag of money, a fit body and an amazing lifetyle. YOU MAY ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO SOME WORK.
As a society we sometimes rely on other people to do the work. We depend on our teachers to teach us and our coaches to coach us. We expect the goverment to watch out for our country's safety. We look to God to provide for us. Guess what....there is one common wildcard in each of those examples----YOU! You will only get good grades in school IF YOU do the work that your teacher lays out for you. You will only be a stellar athlete IF YOU put in the hard work to develp your muscles and mind. You will only be provided for by God IF YOU take action. Think of it like this....if you were sitting in a hut in the forest with your eyes closed and praying for food yet never took action to walk outside and notice that you had a berry tree, lots of wild game and a pizza shop across the street...you would die of hunger. YOU WILL HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!
Today, think about what you may or may not be doing to create the life that you desire. Take ACTION....Life waits for No One!
"The smallest of actions is always better than the noblelist of intentions." -Unknown Climb out to the limb; that's where the fruit is. Imagine being trapped on a mountain for days without food, water or any communication with society. You are hungrier & dehydrated so much that you are scared that you are near the point of death. As you travel over a hillside you see a fruit tree. One that is blossoming with fresh, juicy fruit. The only problem is that the fruit that you so desire is at the end of a limb that is hovering over a deep drop-off of nearly 200 feet. All you want is the fruit. All that you desire is to have the satisfaction of that juice on your lips. Nothing else seems to matter. What do you do?
If you are like most people you judge what it will take to accomplish what you desire. The first thing that will have to happen is 1. Action: you will have to take action with enough effort to crawl out on the limb....you can't stand there staring at the tree and expect the fruit to come to you...you will actually have to DO something, 2. Identify obstacles: while you are out there the wind may pick up and the tree may shake, making it very dangerous...just like in life, people may mock and ridicule you saying that you are crazy for trying to do something, 3. Fear: You may remember a time from your past when you were a child falling from a tree and breaking your arm. All of these things will keep you from the fruit. Is it worth the effort? Absolutely.
As we go through our lives we all encounter daily obstacles of fear and derailment....but it's the action that must be done if we are to ever obtain the 'fruit' in our lives. All great accomplishments have to begin with an initial decision. Make up your mind today to risk it all and climb out to the land of the 'unknown'.....THAT is where the fruit of your desires reside.
"The tragedy of life isn't that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.' -Anonymous Do you remember the screen printers name in the movie Titanic? How about the costume designers in the movie Gone With the Wind? You must remember the stunt doubles names from the movie Top Gun, right? No?
All movies, TV shows, plays & Broadway have what is called 'extras'--the people that make the movie happen. Much of the time we remember the stars that have the BIG names---the Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey & Camerine Diaz's of the world. In your life...YOU are not only the star, but you're the make-up artist, the lighting person, sound check person.....YOU run the show. You are the director of the movie of your life. Everything that happens in it is directed by your choices. If you don't like the scene where your health is deteriorating---make a change. If you don't like how your bank account is beginning to show less zeros after the numbers---make a change.
We get so caught up in our day-to-day lives that we forget that if we don't like something we have the power to change it/ cut it/ add to it or all together drop it. It took me a long time to discover this simple yet profound concept---many of us were brought up in the 'get a good job so you can make a good living'. What is that? What if your miserable doing something that is paying a lot of money? I suggest....figure out what would make you happy create and a passion in your life. We were all born with a 'Gift' and it's our job to share that 'Gift' with the world.
Get busy, the movie of your life has a limited showing time.......you had better make it worth watching. That's a wrap.
'Life is what happens, while you are busy making other plans.' -John Lennon
March Madness. The 2012 basketball season brackets are out and in many of our workplaces much time, energy & research will be done on the upcoming tournament. Here's the observation: Many people will spend hours trying to predict the winner. They'll study wins/losses, statistics, strategies etc. to see if they can be coined "Champion" of their office pool. But how many of those people look at their own lives to see how they can 'end' a winner. You see in our society we are so curious and excited about what is going on in everyone else's life (especially sporting figures or 'famous' celebrities) that we forget to look in our own life. It's almost as if we use other people's lives as a distration so that we don't have to look at our own & what we can do to improve the quality of our own 'life experience'.
I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do a basketball bracket for fun. What I am suggesting is to ask yourself this question: If I were to spend as much time planning my week, or my meals as I do filling out a silly office pool basketball bracket---what would happen to my life? Would it improve? Or would nothing change? I think you know the answer. Zig Ziglar once said 'most people spend more time planning a vacation than they do planning their life.' People get so caught up into the daily maintenance of their lives and that they rarely take the time to work on their goals.
It's time to get off the sidelines of your own life and get in the game---after all, you are the star player.
"Live your life as if all your dreams have come true & challenge reality to catch up." Reality says that you are average. Reality says that there are no miracles. Reality says that no one can do the impossible.
I say, reality sucks. If you want to be amazing....the first step is to realize that you already are. You are no accident. You beat out over 1 million other sperm and I guarantee you won't have those odds to deal with again. You were put here for a reason. It's time you start acting like it. Wasting time watching meaningless television shows, reading gossip magazines & observing all the excitement in your "friends" lives on facebook won't push you toward your greatness . ALL of it it is pointless. Each of us have the same 86,400 seconds in a day....it's time you start ACTING as if each second counts. Pretend (if you must) that today is your last day. What would you do differently? Who would you interact with? What level of love would you share with your family & friends? Who would you call? Where would you go?...and with whom?
ACT AS IF today matters....because it does, in the grand scheme of things. When you BE-gin to realize that all of life is merely an accumulation of years, months, days and seconds.....you will change your lifestyle. ACT AS IF something TRULY is at stake for your life.....because it is. There is no one on this amazing earth like you. You have something INSPIRING to share with the world. GET OUT OF YOUR WAY & unveil your greatness to the world. If you feel as though something is missing in your life.....chances are IT'S YOU!
It's time to show up.....and SHOW UP BIG! If you want to change your life....you have to change your life.
'A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.'- David Brinkley Adversity: definition--adverse fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress We have all had rough times in our lives that the unexpected happens. We may have lost a loved one, had financial distress, been yelled at, failed a class, or lost something that was important to us. Adversity sometimes acts as a wake up call to BE more present in our lives. A great quote by one of my mentors says---'The past doesn't equal the future.....unless you live there.' If you are always focusing on the negative hurts, disappointments, regrets or stressful events of your past, you will more than likely live a life full of fear, hatred, anger and frustration. The sad thing about that--is that it was created by you. Now, the good news here is that if you create something, you can create the opposite as well. And the opposite of adversity is prosperity. When I am speaking of prosperity, I'm not simply referring to it in the financial realm. What I am speaking about is having a prosperous life---being able to BE, Do and Have anything and everything that you desire. The late 1990s hit movie GroundHog Day typically finds itself on national television channels this time of year. For those of you who may not have seen the movie. It's a movie in which Phil Connors (played by BIll Murray) must live the same day over and over again, and is forced to realize that the only real change that will ever be possible must happen within himself. You see we all would like to change what is on the outside. Examples that I have recently heard at my clinic have been that people want more sun, less snow, a newer house, nicer car, more money at the end of the month rather than more month at the end of the money. We all have greater desires. BUT as I have said in the past, you must first be grateful for what you have and know where your are starting from in order to get where you want to go. I heard someone once say--'You will never leave a place that you have never been.' Some people are simply in denial. Many people believe health comes in a pill, potion or lotion. This IS a false statement---HEALTH comes from within. Follow me here-----If you were to take a completely healthy person, meaning they passed all major medical test with flying colors and you began giving them medications-----would they get healthier? Something to think about. The answer is obvious--they would become sick. So my question is this---how can someone be sick, be given medication and expect to get healthy? It will not happen. YOU must add purity where there is none and sufficieny where there is deficiency to restore the body.....from within. Our body's were designed to heal and regulate on their own. It is an enormous responsibility to care for, but If someone truly desires to change anything in their life---You MUST start from within.
"Happiness is not a reward - it is consequence. Suffering is not a punishment - it is a result." ~Robert Green Ingersoll~ Every effect has a cause and every cause has effects (Principle no. 17). You are a co-creator of your future. Every decision, commitment and action you take will bring about certain results. If you don't like the results that are being shown in your life....your only choice is to change the cause (your actions).
I am constantly amazed at the foolishness of the beliefs that our society holds. They can't figure out why they are overweight. They can't determine what brought about the relationship breakup. They don't understand how their bank account can empty so quickly. And they continue to look to outside resources to deal with their dilemmas. Overweight? Take a pill. Bad relationship? Talk to Dr._____. Anxiety due to having no funds? Take a pill. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? The solution to any problem is never on the outside. ALL solutions to ALL problems reside withIN. The accumulation of constant, consistent actions lead to the results that you have. Want different results?--LOOK INWARD and make different choices.
I work in the health field and people are always in shock when I explain that it will take time to restore their health. After all, it took 25 years of poor eating, lack of movement and stress that has put them in the position they are in....it WILL take time and energy to restore and reclaim their life. But we live in what I call the 'Microwave Age'--meaning we want it now, we don't want to have to do anything to make it happen AND we want to have a loud buzzer go off when it's complete. COME ON!!
All great journeys....whether we are talking about health or success take a plan, time, repetition and commitment. Leave either of those four out of the equation and you are setting yourself up for failure.
Today...take a truthful look in the mirror (no B.S. here) BE 100% honest with yourself and find out what can you do different (cause) to create a different result (effect). You have one life and it is yours to live. You may as well create the effect that you want by causing it to happen consciously.
'When you think of impossibilities...... You create them.' Playwright David Mamet wrote: 'On June 5th, 1944 thousands of American paratroopers jumped into Normandy. Four men refused to jump. Can you imagine, can anyone imagine the rest of these men's lives? What prodigies of self-excuse, rationale, or repression they must have had to employ? Their lives, in effect, ended the moment they refused to leave the plane. As would the lives of the Jews, had they refused to go into the sea. As will yours and mine, and as they do in part, we each refuse the opportunity to change---we stagnate and perform ever greater prodigies of repression hypocrisy, to explain to ourselves why we don't immerse ourselves in the mysteries of life. We all die in the end, but there's no reason to die in the middle."
DO SOMETHING BIG TODAY. Think Big! Act Big and BE BIG!! WHO will have the BIGGEST WIN today? Create life, Empower Life....Open up people's minds of what IS possible!!!
